Connetix Tiles Upgrade: 92-Piece Ball Run Pack Replaced by the New 114-Piece Bright Pack
A comprehensive breakdown of the transition from the legacy 92-piece set to the newly re-engineered 114-piece Ball Run Bright Pack, detailing new mechanical components, piece distribution adjustments, and standardized packaging.
For years, the classic Connetix 92 Piece Ball Run Pack was the benchmark kinetic engineering set for early childhood STEM environments. As part of an extensive catalog refresh, Connetix has officially retired this legacy set, rebranding the collection into the new Bright range and introducing the expanded Connetix Ball Run Bright Pack 114pcs.
This upgraded pack arrives in a refreshed box featuring updated dimensions and standardized packaging sizing across the brand catalog. The piece count increases from 92 to 114 pieces, incorporating 16 standard solid square tiles for reinforced base support and 6 spiral tubes previously exclusive to the Ball Run Expansion Pack. The kit also introduces precision mechanical elements, including 12 ring connectors, 2 updated single bowls with taller sides, a square funnel, a mechanical release gate, and 2 split tubes for branching track races. The inclusion of new pink and teal connector tiles also expands the Bright range to 8 vibrant colors.
Throughout these mechanical additions, the core build quality of Connetix Tiles remains identical: ultrasonically welded non-toxic ABS plastic, metal corner safety eyelets, rare-earth neodymium magnets, and the brand's signature scratch-resistant bevelled face. Frequently Asked Questions (Click to Expand)
Why did Connetix replace the 92-piece set with the 114-piece Ball Run Bright Pack?
Connetix upgraded its flagship ball run to the Bright range to improve build versatility, incorporating 16 solid building squares, spiral tubes previously sold separately, connector rings, and new functional drop and release pieces while standardizing box dimensions.
What is the function of the 12 connector rings in the 114-piece set?
Connector rings mechanically snap tube pieces directly together end-to-end, enabling builders to create continuous fluted runs without requiring an intermediate square magnetic connector tile.
How has the single bowl piece been updated in the 114-piece pack?
The 2 single bowls feature taller sidewalls compared to the older version, preventing wooden balls from bouncing or spilling over the edge during high-velocity descents.
What do the split tubes and square funnel pieces do?
The square funnel guides multiple balls into a single trackway, while the 2 split tubes divide pathways, directing rolling balls in opposite directions for branching circuits and dual races.
How does the mechanical gate piece operate?
The gate piece can be placed at any position along the track circuit to temporarily hold balls in place and release them manually, allowing controlled drops and synchronized starts.
Which piece quantities decreased from the 92-piece to the 114-piece set?
In the updated configuration, short straight tubes decreased from 8 to 6, slide pieces decreased from 8 to 4, and square magnetic connector tiles decreased from 48 to 24 to accommodate solid support tiles, rings, and specialty tubes.
Why are 16 standard square tiles included in the 114-piece set?
The 16 solid square tiles provide structural load-bearing capacity, allowing children to build supporting walls and anchor tall ball run tracks without needing to draw from a separate creative starter pack.
Are the tubes and tiles from the 92-piece pack compatible with the 114-piece set?
Yes. All Connetix ball run pieces, click-lock tabs, standard 7.5 cm × 7.5 cm tiles, and sensory wooden balls maintain identical connecting dimensions across legacy and new releases.
What safety certifications apply to the Connetix 114-piece Ball Run?
The set complies with Australian/New Zealand safety standard AS/NZS ISO 8124, featuring food-grade ABS plastic, ultrasonic welds, and corner rivets securing internal neodymium magnets.
What is the official certified age rating for the 114pc Ball Run set?
The Connetix Ball Run Bright Pack 114pcs carries an official safety rating for ages 3 years and older due to the small parts (wooden balls) presenting a potential choking hazard for younger children.
